Members of the Copper Country Recycling Initiative will discuss their recent grant application to the Department of Environmental Quality for building a new local recycling center for corrugated cardboard at the Portage Lake District Library today at 4:00pm.
Other items that will be discussed include a survey of trash and cardboard collection across the country, recycling facilities in Marquette and Eagle River, Wisconsin, the current Houghton contract with Waste Management, the Energy Summit for the Upper Peninsula, and creating a display for the Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative’s Lake Superior Celebration at Michigan Tech on April 23rd.
