Grant Will Fund Youth Drama Outreach

Calumet High School Drama Advisor Dave Heinz has been awarded an Ezra Jack Keats Mini-Grant to fund an inventive program that allows high school students to mentor youth who are participating in the Great Explorations program at elementary schools throughout Houghton County.

By partnering with BHK Child Development, the Calumet High School Drama Club will present Drama Days at Great Explorations.

This fun and educational program is designed to foster creative expression, working together, and interaction with a diverse community while introducing children to theater.

Heinz is one of 64 teachers across 26 states who received a grant this year.
