For all these years that mountain bikers have been chasing deer–one is still yet to be caught.
The 11th Annual Great Deer Chase is taking place this weekend on the Swedetown Trails in Calumet,
The Saturday event includes a 15 and a 30 mile cross country race along with 3 and 5 mile youth races.
Race Committee member Heather Brinegar says that means there are races for everyone to take part in.
The public is invited to come out at cheer on the racers as they pass through downtown Calumet at the start of the race, followed by the Classic Wheels Parade, Show and Street Fair.
If it’s classic and it has wheels, it can be in the parade.
About 17 volunteers are still needed for the race so if you can spare a half hour, an hour and a half, or maybe even more, call Mike Schreiber at 906-201-1352.
