Hancock City Council Rejects Chickens

Chickens will not be coming to the city of Hancock.

After reviewing a request from a small number of residents to add them to the list of animals allowed, the city council rejected the idea.

The current animal ordinance is being revised since it only states that a few animals are allowed in the city–namely dogs and cats.

A committee is working to include other popular household animals but any livestock, including chickens, will still be prohibited.
