Higher Education Funding Idea Floated

The question of how to support higher education in the future continues to be bandied about.

And one proposal that could surface would seek help from the federal government. States have supported higher education for many years.

But Dan Hurley of the Michigan Association of State Universities also supports the federal government jumping in and providing incentive support.

He says there are people in Washington now talking about “some type of federal-state partnership” as part of an effort to increase support for higher education.

He says one idea would be a no-strings-attached grant to states, to “incentivize” investment in higher education.
