Michigan motorists will find the average gas prices are up this week. AAA Michigan reports the state’s current average is just over $3.75 per gallon, almost 5 cents higher than last week but 11 cents less than this same time last year. The lowest price for regular unleaded in the state can be found in Sturgis at just under $3.37. The highest is on Drummond Island at nearly $4.10. AAA says it expects that most drivers will pay lower gas prices by Memorial Day weekend due to rising supplies, though unexpected developments such as refinery problems or international events could result in higher costs. With many plans already made and budgets set, it is unlikely that gas prices will have a significant effect on travel plans compared to a year ago.
