Homebuyer Basics Workshop Offered By MSU Extension

Learn about home ownership and the mortgage lending process

May 26, 2015—L’Anse, MI—Michigan State University Extension is presenting a homebuyer basic workshop to share valuable information about the home-buying process. Learn how to navigate the technicalities of the mortgage lending and how to avoid costly mistakes. The workshop is on June 22, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Baraga County Courthouse, 16 N. 3rd St., L’Anse, MI 49946. The workshop will instruct participants on the advantages of homeownership, the steps in the home-buying process, the costs of homeownership, the importance of good credit rating, the amount you can afford for a mortgage, the kind of mortgage to obtain, how to select a real estate agent, the importance of homeowner insurance, the documents you will need to sign, and mortgage lending basics. This workshop is a good first step if you are interested in buying a home. The workshop will consist of a two hour session on June 22, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

MSU Extension is a HUD (Housing and Urban Development) and MSHDA (Michigan State Housing Development Authority) certified agency that provides this educational program on home ownership for anyone interested.
