Houghton City Council Meeting Preview

Tonight’s Houghton City Council meeting will begin with a public hearing regarding a Michigan State Housing Development Authority Rental Rehab Grant application for Portage Lake Properties LLC, specifically two apartments above Roy’s Bakery. One of the resolutions to be voted on by the council is to authorize City Manager Eric Waara to sign off on the application as well as designate WUPPDR as a 3rd party administrator. The other resolution is to create an equal opportunity agreement in terms of the bidding and contracting of that property. Also, the water run policy will be readressed at the meeting.
