Houghton County Board Meeting Recap

A light but important docket was on tap for the Houghton County Board of Commissioners meeting yesterday. The board was given a presentation by MSHDA Executive Director Kim Stoker and they approved a MSHDA Grant application that Chairman Scott Ala says will greatly benefit the houses in the community.

The board also approved putting $110,000 towards repairs to the courthouse, specifically for the roof. Sherri Lynn Lamponen was appointed to the WUPPDR Regional Board as well. And the board approved to allocate $2,500 for the engineering of a new layout to renovate the kitchen of the Houghton County jail.
