Houghton High School Students Turn Giving Tuesday into Gremsgiving

During November to celebrate Giving Tuesday students at Houghton Portage Township Schools are supporting local non-profits. The Houghton High School student council and Interact clubs will host their first-ever giving Tuesday event titled Gremsgiving. During the month students have been encouraged to collect items for various non-profits and fundraisers in the region. Teachers and staff at the school have even gotten in on the fun helping students fill boxes placed outside of classrooms. Some of the causes that students are supporting include;

  • Toys for Tots
  • TV6 Canathon
  •  Barbara Kettle Gundlach Shelter Home
  • Angel Mission
  • 31 Backpacks
  • Operation Copper Country Active Duty

Those interested in supporting students particiapting in Giving Tuesday activities can contact Advisor Traci Welch (twelch@hpts.us) or Student Council Advisor Anna Bradfish (abradfish@hpts.us) for more information.
