Houghton Man Stand Mute On Fleeing & Eluding Charge

The case against a Houghton man allegedly involved in a high speed chase continues.

Voght, Rudolph at arraignment33-year-old Rudolph Voght stood mute in Houghton County Circuit Court to 3rd Degree Fleeing and Eluding.

That’s a felony with a maximum prison sentence of five years, but Voght could face up to twice that amount if convicted as a Habitual Offender 3rd Offense.

Police say Voght led them on a high speed chase in May while on his motorcycle.

Speeds reportedly topped well over 100 miles an hour and lasted for roughly 60 miles.

Since Voght stood mute, a Not Guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

He is currently out on bond.

A pretrial will be held in about 30 days.
