House Fire in Houghton

Firefighters responded to a house fire earlier today in Houghton. Officials say the call came in just after 2 p.m. to a residence on Calverley Avenue The two occupants were able to get out of the house before responders arrived. Firefighters were able to keep the fire isolated to one room, which was damaged extensively. The rest of the house had heavy water and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. We’ll have more details on Monday’s Keweenaw Report.
