An Illinois man was hurt in a snowmobile accident in Houghton County yesterday morning. Houghton County Sheriff’s deputies say 47-year-old Daniel A. Schmidt was traveling south on the North Freda Trail in Adams Township around 11:00 when he hit a snow drift. His snowmobile flipped into the air, and crashed into a tree. Schmidt was taken to Portage Health. His condition has not been released.
