Indian Reservation Drug Supply Interrupted By DEA Bust

Dozens of suspected heroin dealers are being indicted for running one of the largest drug rings on Midwest Indian reservations.

A federal grand jury in Minnesota has indicted 41 people who prosecutors say trafficked heroin and other hard drugs from Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis to Indian reservations in the region, including the Upper Peninsula.

So far police have seized over two kilograms of heroin, one kilogram of cocaine, hundreds of prescription pain pills, and numerous weapons.

The Drug Enforcement Administration says the dismantling of the operation is a significant turning point in the war against drugs on Indian Reservations.
