A group of Keweenaw Bay Indian Community students got a first-hand look into possible STEM careers while on Isle Royale National Park.

Tech Today reports that 13 KBIC youth went with a team from Michigan Tech to the island last week.

The students studied aspects of science and math while on board the research vessel, the Agassiz.

The excursion was co-sponsored by Tech’s “Ride the Waves with General Motors Program”.

Tech began providing KBIC youth with wilderness STEM experiences in 2013.
