Keweenaw Science & Engineering Festival Is Next Week

It’s almost time to get your geek on.

Next week, the Copper Country community will embrace its nerdy side and celebrate with events and entertainment for all generations at the Keweenaw Science and Engineering Festival.

These hands-on STEM festivals–that stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics–are popular around the world.

This year marks the first KSEF and will run August 3-8.

Michigan Tech’s Steve Patchin says the events are designed to show families what engineering is all about.

Highlights include Nerd Night for teens at the Continental Fire Company next Wednesday, Family Engineering Day at Kestner Waterfront Park and the Science Pub Crawl through downtown Houghton restaurants on Thursday, STEM in the Keweenaw at Kestner Park on Friday and the Mindtrekkers Expo at the park on Saturday.

These and other events in the Keweenaw Science and Engineering Festival begin Monday, August 3rd.
