Lake Linden Man Jailed in Ontonagon

A 52-year-old Lake Linden man spent the weekend in the Ontonagon County jail after being found in his car in a ditch early Friday morning.  Ontonagon County sheriff’s deputies tell us they found Randell Keeling behind the wheel of the car along M-26 near M-38.  They say Keeling became assaultive as they removed him from the vehicle. A passerby assisted in subduing him. He was brought to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital, where his blood alcohol content was measured at .37 percent – four-and-a-half times the legal limit. Keeling was taken to the Ontonagon County Jail after being treated. He was arraigned Friday on charges of DWI (with high blood alcohol content), malicious destruction of property, resisting and obstructing, and carrying a dangerous weapon  – a knife – with unlawful intent. Bond was set at $50,000.
