L’Anse Pays Off Industrial Park Loan; Solar Project Advances

The Village of L’Anse has made the final payment on a loan that spurred development of the industrial park on Lambert Road. The loan was arranged by the Western Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Region and the Michigan Department of Transportation to build a Class A road to the development, and install municipal sewer.

Village manager Bob LaFave said the improvements will make the park more attractive to potential new businesses.

The Industrial Park is also housing the village’s new Community Solar Project. Installation of solar panels will begin soon. L’Anse Electrical Utility customers can purchase panels, and have the revenue generated by the panels applied to their power bills. Financing options are available, and some panels are being offered at discounted prices for low-income residents. Find details here
