Local Control Law Continues To Be Developed

The Michigan House is volleying a bill back to the Senate that impacts local governments passing wage and benefit ordinances.

The House altered the bill to keep laws approved before January 1st, 2015 on the books.

That means the dozen cities that have local wage ordinances in place will keep them.

Lawmakers opposed to the bill say local control should stay local.

Those backing the legislation however think it makes more sense to keep wages and benefits the same, across the board.
