Angel Mission, Keweenaw Sheriff Continue Kids Christmas Campaigns

Christmas is three-and-a-half weeks away, and efforts continue to make sure that all of the children in the Copper Country find something under the tree.

The deadline for registering kids for the Copper Country Angel Mission Angel Tree program is this Saturday. Children can be signed up at their store in Calumet today through Saturday between 11:00 and 2:00.

Thirty-four Angel Tree registrations were received yesterday. Organizers say they need more sponsors to purchase the requested items, or make donations to cover the cost of purchases. Gifts should be returned to the Angel Mission Store by December 12th. Sign up at the Angel Mission store, at the corner of Fifth and Pine Streets in Calumet.

The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s No Kid Without a Christmas campaign is also continuing.

The program serves around 100 children each year.

Families in need can sign up by contacting the Sheriff’s Office in Eagle River, or through the local Department of Health and Human Services office in Mohawk.

Donations can be made through the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office, 5105 4th Street, Eagle River, MI 49950. For information, call 337-0528.
