Aspirus At Home Nurse Given Hero Award

CALUMET, Mich. – Aspirus at Home Registered Nurse, Pamela Aho, received special recognition recently for the “loving care” she provided for Calumet resident Beverly Holman.

The Aspirus Hero program is a way for patients and families to say thank you for the care they received by an Aspirus provider, employee, volunteer or entire team, by making a generous gift in their honor. The Hero gift made in Aho’s honor supports community health initiatives in the Upper Peninsula through the Keweenaw Health Foundation.

During a March 2 ceremony at Aspirus at Home in Calumet, Aho was commended by Holman’s son, Kenneth Holman of Manistee, Mich., for going “above and beyond in the loving care” she provided his mother for more than two years.

“She will always be a shining star in our family memories,” Kenneth Holman said.

Keweenaw Health Foundation Executive Director Ed Jenich added, “Your compassion for this patient and your commitment to delivering outstanding customer service is the reason for your recognition.”

As a token of appreciation and honor, Aho received a lapel pin that signifies the special care and compassion she provided to the Holman family.

Keweenaw Health Foundation is a non-profit entity that develops resource opportunities to support the healing mission of Aspirus Keweenaw and the communities it serves. This includes equipment purchases, free health screenings, educational programs and materials, and grants to local organizations to help improve the health and well-being of people in the community.
