Aspirus U.P. hospitals and clinics receive awards based on patient feedback

The following press release was issued by Aspirus:

UPPER PENINSULA, Mich.  Aspirus hospitals and clinics in the Upper Peninsula have been recognized by Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC) with Excellence in Healthcare Awards based on information gathered during patient surveys.

The Excellence in Healthcare Awards recognize organizations and individuals who achieve excellence throughout the year by improving patient experiences, health care employee engagement and/or physician alignment and engagement based on surveys of their patients.

The following Aspirus providers in Michigan’s U.P. earned Provider 5-Star Awards based on an overall doctor rating:

  • Heather Kalm, NP-C, Aspirus Ironwood Clinic
  • Amy Schmidt, PA-C,  Aspirus Ironwood Clinic
  • Amanda Pisco, FNP-C Aspirus Ironwood Clinic – Surgical Center
  • Nitin Nigam, MD,  Aspirus Eye Center – Ironwood
  • David Murdock, MD, ACC Ironwood
  • Jeffrey Huotari, MD, Aspirus Houghton Clinic
  • Christiann Rosemurgy, CNM, WHNP-BC, Aspirus Houghton Clinic

The Provider 5-Star Award is based on the percentage of patients who respond with a 9 or 10 (out of 10) when asked to rate their provider overall. Providers scoring in the top 10 percent of PRC’s national database receive the 5-Star Award.

All four Aspirus hospitals in the U.P. received recognition, including: Aspirus Iron River, Aspirus Ironwood, Aspirus Keweenaw and Aspirus Ontonagon. They are among more than 70 Aspirus and Aspirus Network member locations and providers to receive awards recently from health care research leader Professional Research Consultants, Inc.

“It is an honor to recognize these healthcare organizations with Excellence in Healthcare Awards for their deserving work,” said Joe M. Inguanzo, Ph.D., President and CEO of PRC. “It takes true dedication and determination to achieve this level of excellence in healthcare and each one of these organizations has demonstrated their commitment to making their hospital a better place to work, a better place to practice medicine, and a better place for patients to be treated.”

PRC holds an Excellence in Healthcare Summit annually that brings together hundreds of healthcare leaders to celebrate their work to transform the patient experience. This year’s conference was held May 3 in Indianapolis.
