Aspirus welcomes Andy Costic, Vice President – Regional Finance

UPPER PENINSULA, Mich. – Aspirus has hired Andy Costic as the Vice President – Regional Finance.

Costic is a master’s-prepared health care executive and brings more than 19 years of experience in finance, operations, revenue cycle and informational technology to Aspirus. Most recently, Costic served as Regional Chief Financial Officer with Abraham Lincoln Memorial and Taylorville Memorial hospitals in Springfield, Illinois.

As Regional CFO, Costic was responsible for the financial operations of a $108 million budget. He led the turnaround of a hospital from a 4.4 percent operating loss to a 14.1 operating gain. Among his many major career accomplishments, Costic provided project leadership for the construction of a $50 million, 100,000-square-foot hospital in Lincoln, Illinois.

“We are thrilled that he has extensive experience in all aspects of rural health care finance and accounting to help us continue to improve our performance,” said Christine Harff, Aspirus U.P. Regional President. “He is going to hit the ground running and help us reach our goals.” 

Costic earned his Master of Health Administration degree from State University of New York and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wilkes University in Pennsylvania. Professional affiliations include the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

“I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to serve communities in one of the most beautiful places in the world,” Costic said. “I enjoy outdoor recreation 12 months of the year and look forward to exploring the region.”

Costic is happy to be a part of the Aspirus family, developing relationships across the U.P. and throughout the system. He is based at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.
