The laughter on Finlandia University’s campus will be coming from way up high this spring as the university is once again putting on a play – this time it will be Neil Simon’s Laughter on the 23rd Floor.

Details on the play will be released early during the spring semester, but for now community members and students are invited to audition for the play on Tuesday, November 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Matthew.

“The Copper Country is a great community for the arts, and I’m excited to be bringing more of that to our campus,” said Campus Pastor Soren Schmidt, who is directing the play. “This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in helping out to join us.

In total about a dozen acting roles, two assistant directors, and several backstage roles including lighting and stage prep need to be filled. Anyone interested in helping is invited to stop by auditions or contact Soren Schmidt directly by email soren.schmidt@finlandia.edu or (906) 487-7239.

Finlandia students are able to register for course credit following the audition. Callbacks will be Wednesday, November 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the chapel.
