Bridgefest Parade Entries Encouraged

Bridgefest organizers are urging those who wish to take part in the annual parade to submit their entry forms as soon as possible.

The parade will take place on June 17th at the west edge of downtown Hancock. Participants in the Thatcher Markham Memorial Run will lead off at 7:00, with the formal parade following.

Parade coordinator David Crowley says those who register will have an easy time lining up…

They’re sent a line-up number, and all they gotta do is pull into the lineup area, and find the numbered stake.

Those who try to crash the parade at the last minute cause problems for everyone…

When you have that many units to try to line up, if you have to be telling each one individually where to go, it can get to be pretty chaotic.

The parade lineup mailing will go out early next week, which is why organizers are urging that entries be completed as soon as possible.

There is also a $35 parade entry fee that must be paid in advance.

Sign-up can be done online…

All they gotta do is go to BridgefestFun.com and find the parade registration form and fill it out.

Forms can also be turned in at the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce office in Houghton.

Entries are welcome from businesses, groups, clubs and individuals. Organizers emphasize that all entries should be decorated.
