Bridgefest Parade Registration Underway

Preparations continue for the return of Bridgefest on Father’s Day weekend. Registration for the parade is now open. Organizer David Crowley says it’s essential to know in advance who’ll be participating…

When you have many, many different vehicles coming and going, it really helps to have everybody have some information so they know what direction to come in, and where to line up.

Entries can be placed so they complement each other, to avoid instances such as two loud musical entries back-to-back. planning can also help the flow of the parade…

There used to be, like, five, 10, 15-minute gaps in the parade. We’ve reduced that quite a bit over the years.

Crowley also encourages parade participants to make their entries as festive as possible…

I’ve got pictures that we took years ago. They would put flocking all over the cars that were pulling the floats. It’s not going to be that expensive, I don’t think, to just add a little bit of color and stuff, to make it a parade.

Any individual, business or organization is welcome in the parade. There is a $35 entry fee, which must be paid when you register. Sign up and see the full parade rules at BridgefestFun.com. The entry deadline is June 13th. The parade is Friday, June 17th.

Registration for food and non-food vendors also continues at BridgefestFun.com. You can also visit the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce office in Houghton in person to sign up.
