Burton Continues As LL-H School Board President

The leadership of the Lake Linden-Hubbell Board of Education will remain the same this year. At Monday evening’s annual re-organizational meeting, Patricia Burton was re-elected board president. Jeff Dennis will continue as vice-president.

Meetings will continue to be held the second Monday of each month – except for next month. February’s meeting has been moved to Wednesday the fifth, so administrators who are also athletic coaches can attend.

Superintendent Brad Codere told us that the board welcomed leaders of American Legion Post 90, who handed out awards to students who took part in the Legion’s annual essay contests.

High schoolers Alyssa Burton, Jamie Hendrickson and Kaitlyn Baccus were honored in the Voice of Democracy Essay Contest. Middle schoolers Marissa Sullivan, Gabrielle VanNorman and Clara Colombe were honored in the Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest.

Board members congratulated the Lakes football team, which earned All-State Academic honors, and team member Josh Suhonen, who earned an individual All-State Academic award.

And, the board accepted with regret the resignation of high school and middle school volleyball coach Amanda Perrault.
