Calumet Family Displaced By Fire

While the cause of a recent fire in Calumet remains under investigation, a relief fund has been organized for a family of six who have been displaced by the blaze.

It’s believed that the fire started in a vacant church and quickly spread to the Bain family home on the 300 block of 7th Street early Sunday morning.

All six family members escaped the fire without serious injury. However, the home remains unlivable and many of their belongings have been destroyed both by fire and smoke damage, leaving two parents and four children without many necessities.

A goal of $25,000 has been set on a Go Fund Me page that will go toward a new home and supplies for the family.
