Calumet Taxi Service Offering Free Rides Home on New Years Eve

While Alcohol and New Years eve celebrations go hand in hand, a Keweenaw Taxi Service is doing their part to keep drunk drivers off the road ensuring that citizens get home safe and sound.

“Were going to be doing a sober program to give people rides home from the bar so they’re not out drinking and driving over the holidays. Just making sure people are safe on the roads out here. We just want to make sure everybody gets home safe.” Said, Russ Chambers of A2B Taxi, who says that the courtesy program is designed to allow partiers to enjoy themselves without having to worry about how to get home after a night of drinking.

“Starting at 10:00 were going to be giving people free rides home from the bar, it is not bar to bar, its from the bar going home. Making sure nobody’s out drinking and driving. We don’t want anybody getting hurt over the weekend.”

Anyone who needs a ride home from the bar in the calumet area should call 369-4041
