Calumet Township Receives $1 Million Grant To Improve Infrastructure

Calumet Township is the recipient of over $1 million in grant money to enhance infrastructure.  A total of 11 cities, towns, and villages statewide were granted funds from the Community Development Block Grant Program.

“Many communities in the U.P. have been effected by the crippling weather conditions that have taken a toll on our infrastructure,” State Rep. Greg Markkanen of Hancock said. “I’m very pleased to see grant money available to lend a helping hand in the U.P. and strengthen our communities.”

The money will be used to replace undersized water mains, increasing system reliability and flow.
