Campers Ready To Rock This Saturday

PJ Olsson’s Rock Camp returns with the Really Big Show this Saturday night at the Rozsa Center.

For the 10th year, Rock Campers have come together for a two-week full immersion camp to hone their performance skills and grow individually as people and musicians.

The lineup of talented performers includes Hancock High School’s Vanessa Dulong, who says this year’s camp is going great.  “The bands are a good mix this year,” she said.  “I don’t think any of the bands are alike and everyone is doing different kinds of music. My band is like hard rock, we’re rocking it out, man, so it’s going to be really cool.”

Rock Camp founder PJ Olsson says the experience these kids get will them become more than just better musicians.  “What we really want to do is inspire kids to gather strength for themselves and we use music as that tool to really inspire and what we hope is that when they overcome the fears or the passions—sometimes it’s not overcoming, sometimes it’s actually proving themselves to themselves,” said Olsson.  “It doesn’t matter what they’re going to be going into in the future, they’re going to carry Rock Camp with them.”

Tickets for the Really Big Show this Saturday night at 7:00 at the Rozsa Center are available through the Michigan Tech ticketing office.
