Champion Woman Jailed for Cyberstalking

A Champion woman is headed to prison for cyberstalking.

56-year-old Theresa Louise Harris was convicted of harassing her former boyfriend, and his friends and members of his family in the Marquette area.

From 2014 through August of last year, she hacked into cell phone accounts, sent fake emails and texts, created phony social media accounts in the victims’ names, and collected personal information about her victims, including their Social Security numbers and banking data.

Harris apologized at her sentencing yesterday, and asked the judge for leniency.

Chief U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker said “no,” and sentenced her to two years in federal prison, followed by a two-year period of supervised release, and a $10,000 fine. He also ordered a mental health assessment.
