Child Attacked By Dog, Owner Located

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office has located the owner of a pair of dogs, one of which was accused of attacking a 10-year-old child Sunday.

Authorities say the attack happened around 8pm on Lower Point Mills Road in Torch Lake Township near Sandy Bottom Beach.

The woman was said to have been walking two dark colored dogs when one of them bit the child several times.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office originally indicated the dogs were described as “possibly pit bulls.”  The Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the dog is a lab-mix.

The incident is still under investigation.
