Santa will visit Houghton tomorrow afternoon.
The first installment of the city’s Winter Wonderland will see the Jolly Old Elf arrive at the waterfront pier at 4:00, where he’ll meet with kids.
The city’s Christmas tree will be lit around 4:00, as well.
Festivities will continue until 7:00, with hot cocoa, carriage rides along Lakeshore Drive. photos with Christmas-themed characters, holiday music, and shopping and dining specials.
The second Winter Wonderland installment will take place December 17th.
Christmas in Calumet doesn’t officially begin until next Saturday, but there are several significant events in the village this weekend.
The Calumet High School senior class will present the play A Christmas Chaos, tonight at 7:00, and tomorrow at 2:00 at the Calumet Theatre. Tickets cost $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and seniors, and will be available at the door.
Tomorrow, the Copper Country Associated Artists will present their Artist’s Marketplace and Gallery Open House at the CCAA Gallery on Fifth Street. Along with the customary selection of original artwork, there will be tables set up with unique smaller gift items for sale.
The Copper Country Community Arts Center will host its 46th annual Poor Artists Sale at the CLK Gymnasium. The juried event will include works from more than 50 artists.
Both will run from 11:00 until 4:00.
