City Of Houghton Not Included In Boil Water Advisory

The “Boil Water” Advisory in effect for Adams Township (Atlantic Mine and all parts North) Portage Township, The City of Hancock and Quincy and Franklin Townships, along with any areas that get their water from Adams Township, is ongoing, through the weekend, if not longer.

Hancock Public Schools have brought in bottled water for students and have turned off drinking fountains. 

The city of Houghton would like residents to know, the “Boil Water” Advisory, does not apply to them.

If you live in an area where the advisory is ongoing, please continue to boil any water that may be used for cooking, drinking, making ice or brushing teeth, for at least two minutes.
