COVID-19 And Tourism In The Keweenaw

How hard has COVID-19 hit tourism in the Keweenaw Peninsula?

Pretty hard in the Spring, according to Brad Barnett, Director of the Keweenaw Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Business slowed down considerably, when the shutdown order went into effect in mid-March.

Barnett commented on the Summer tourism season.

Barnett remains cautiously optimistic for the Fall, based on when sports return, and to what capacity, along with if schools open when they’re supposed too.

More uncertainty is now coming, with the amended executive orders, starting tomorrow.
