Executive Orders Extended

Governor Whitmer was also busy when it came to dealing with executive orders, extending three executive orders and signing a new one yesterday.

Extensions for various places of public accommodation to remain closed, along with restaurants only serving carry out orders. Weight restrictions for vehicles transporting goods needed to fight COVID-19 and videoconferencing for government meetings, were  extended until May 11th.

Whitmer said “By extending these Executive Orders, we ensure our state is doing all it can, to slow the spread of COVID-19.”

She also signed a new executive order, which temporarily extends the expiration of driver’s licenses, state ID cards and vehicle registrations.

The new order is in effect, and extends documents set to expire between March 1 and May 31st, til June 30th.

The order also suspends penalties for recently expired but otherwise valid vehicle registrations.
