Expanded Brook Trout Catches to Continue on Select Streams

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has left in place an experimental program that allows fishermen to take up to 10 brook trout per day on selected Upper Peninsula rivers.

The expanded limit on the specified Type One trout streams originally expired when the 2019 summer season ended on September 30th. It will be in effect again when the 2020 season opens April 25th.

– In Baraga County, the East Branch of the Fence River, the Falls River, Sidnaw Creek, the Silver River, the Sturgeon River, and the West Branch of the Huron River…
– In Houghton County, Deer Creek, the East Branch of the Ontonagon River, the Sante River, and Sidnaw Creek…
– In Keweenaw County, the Tobacco River…
– In Ontonagon County, the Big Iron River, Bluff Creek, and the West Branch of the Firesteel River.
