Firearm Deer Season Opens Today

The firearm deer hunting season opens today.

The good news is that the herd has recovered from some rough winters a few years ago. DNR Wildlife Biologist John DePue says hunting should be good…

Mark Pomeroy from the Baraga DNR office reminds that safety comes first…

Anyone heading into the woods, including hunters and those who are just there for business or recreation, should wear as much hunter’s orange as possible for safety.

Hunting hours begin 30 minutes before local sunrise, and end 30 minutes after local sunset.

Hear Todd VanDyke’s full interview with DePue and Pomeroy on Sunday’s Copper Country Today, or listen to the podcast here:

The first edition of our Copper Country Deer Hunters Roundup will air tonight at 7:00 on KBear 102.3. You can upload information about your successes at KBear102.com.
