Gas Prices Trend Higher

Gas prices rose again last week in our area.

AAA Michigan’s survey places the average cost of unleaded gasoline in the Marquette region at $2.57 per gallon.

That’s a nickel higher than it was a week ago, four cents higher than a month ago, and a dime higher than a year ago. It’s two cents below the national average, but 11 cents higher than the statewide average.

Keweenaw County again checks in with the highest average in the state, at $2.80 per gallon. Baraga County is among the lowest, at $2.43. Houghton County opened the day at $2.53 per gallon.
