Governor Whitmer Announces Workforce Development Board

Michigan now has a Workforce Development Board.

Governor Whitmer announced this at her press conference earlier this afternoon.

She explained the board’s purpose.

She also recapped some of her recent actions.

She also spoke of the benefits of Michigan’s Workshare Program.

The program benefits employers, by allowing employees to come back to work, and restart their businesses.

She also had this to say.

On Tuesday, the governor will be testifying at a Congressional Subcommittee on energy, commerce oversight and investigations in regards to COVID-19 responses from the states.

She’s ready to do so.

Chief Health Officer Joneigh Khaldun.

As Mental Health Awareness Month draws to a close, she reminded everyone the consequences of COVID-19 aren’t just physical.
