Grief and Bereavement Coalition at Portage Lake District Library

The Portage Lake District Library will host the Community Coalition on Grief and Bereavement for a public presentation on Wednesday, October 5, at 6:30 p.m.

“Seasons of Grief: A Journey to Healing” will be presented by Toni Waara, LMSW, at Aspirus at Home, Bucky Beach, Pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and Barbara Kendall, RN, MSN, Retired. Together they will share information and experiences about grieving. Topics include a personal journey through grief and what led to healing, feelings of normal grief and strategies to help, ideas for caregivers and professionals on how to help others with grief, and a review of resources available in our community.

There will be resource information available and an opportunity for participants to ask questions of the speakers.

This program is for families and loved ones, therapists, counselors, faith community representatives, health care providers, and the general public.

Light refreshments will be served.
