Hancock Non-Union Employees Get Pay Boost

Hancock’s non-union city employees will be getting a raise.

At last night’s meeting, the city council approved a 2.75 percent increase for 2021.

City Manager Mary Babcock said the raise was in line with those granted to union workers…

“The police union gets a 2.75, and the DPW got a 2.9 this year, so we just went with the lower percentage of the police union.”

The council also approved an amendment to the city’s new rental ordinance. The city will be looking to hire or contract with an enforcement officer for the rental code. Babcock said a description will be available soon. Interested individuals can check with city hall.

The council opened its first meeting of 2021 with moments of silence for former mayor Barbara Clark and former city manager Dave Richards, who both passed away recently.
