Hancock Posts Marijuana Survey

In advance of tomorrow’s community meeting about recreational marijuana, the City of Hancock has posted a summary of the issue and a community survey on its website.

The ad hoc committee that has been reviewing the issue for the past year has recommended that the city allow sale and cultivation of marijuana, in the downtown business district only.

The two-page summary includes some general history of the recreational marijuana issue in Michigan, the committee’s recommendations, and the justification for those recommendations.

The brief survey asks for reactions to the recommendations, and opinions on recreational marijuana in general. It does not ask for your name or any personal information, but does request some basic information, such as whether you live or work in the city.

Mayor pro-tem and marijuana committee member Will Lytle says the results of the survey will help guide their decisions… [LYTLE A].

Lytle discussed the issue on last Sunday’s Copper Country Today program. You can hear the interview here.  You can read the summary and fill out the survey here.

Tomorrow’s community meeting about Marijuana in Hancock will begin at 6:00 at the Finnish-American Heritage Center.
