Hancock School Superintendent Proposes Community Sign

Hancock Schools Superintendent Steve Patchin wants to put up a sign.

Patchin brought his idea to the Hancock City Council last night.

He said the digital sign could be as large as three feet by 10 feet. Rotating messages could promote events at the school and in the wider community.

The ability to update the content instantly would also allow authorities to post emergency messages…

Patchin would like to see the sign placed on the wall on the Hancock side of the Lift Bridge. The message rotation would be relatively slow, to avoid causing a distraction to drivers. The sign would be paid for with private funds. The Hancock sign committee will consider the proposal, with input from MDOT.
