No Houghton County Fair this year, but there will be a Junior Market Livestock Show and Sale, for beef steers, hogs and lambs.
This from the Board’s monthly meeting last night.
Concerns over COVID-19 far outweighed the risks of moving ahead with the fair.
In addition to the fair being cancelled, there will be no horse show.
The livestock show and sale will hopefully help the children who purchased animals recoup financial losses.
The show will take place on Friday, August 28th and the auction will happen the following day.
