Identity of Baraga Crash Victim Released

The identity of the man who died in a traffic crash Friday on US-41 north of Baraga has been released.

56-year-old David Savard of L’Anse was a passenger in a car that was struck by a pickup truck as it turned across the highway to enter the Pines Convenience Store parking lot.

The driver of the car was a 48-year-old Pelkie woman. She and a four-year-old boy who was in the car were treated for injuries at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. Her name has not yet been released.

The driver of the pickup was not injured.

A police investigation continues.
