International Cuisine to Return to Parade of Nations

International food will return to the Parade of Nations this year.

While not reviving the full-fledged Multicultural Festival that used to follow the parade, eight international student organizations will be selling food from their countries at Dee Stadium.

Organizations cooking for the parade this year include the Nepalese Student Organization, the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, the Muslim Students Association, the Indian Students Association, the African Students Organization, the Bangladeshi Student Association and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.

The Parade of Nations will be held September 17. It will begin at 11 a.m. at Quincy Green in Hancock, and follow a route across the Houghton-Hancock Bridge to Dee Stadium, where food will be available for take-out only.

All are welcome to participate in the parade. Any individual or group can carry a flag. Groups can enter a float. There will be cash prizes for the top three entries.

This year’s parade theme is “The World is One.”
