The rehabilitated bird was rescued here in the Keweenaw by the U.P. Wildlife Rehabilitation—Keweenaw Group in July, then transported to the Chocolay Raptor Center.

The eagle was said to be emaciated and weak and was then transported to Wings of Wonder.

After being restored to good health, the bald eagle was released Monday in Maple City at the Glen Lake Community School parking lot, south of Ishpeming.

Wings of Wonder used the public release of the eagle to help raise money for the care and treatment of eagles, owls, hawks and falcons.
