Keweenaw Chamber Director Resigns

Keweenaw Chamber Logo FeatureIn October’s monthly newsletter released via email Friday afternoon, Cheryl Fahrner, Executive Director of the Keweenaw Peninsula Chamber of Commerce announced that she would be resigning her post effective at the end of the month.

Director for just over two years, Fahrner will be heading back to Wisconsin.  “I will be returning to Stevens Point, due to some family issues that are pulling me back home,” she stated in a letter addressed to the chamber’s Board of Directors and members.  “I assure all of you, the Chamber has strengthened relationships in the community and has helped implement significant projects to strengthen the area.  I am proud of the work that has been accomplished by the Chamber since joining you in July 2014.”

The letter went on to list the many things that have occurred during Fahrner’s tenure, the first director of the organization after many years of it being run strictly by its board.

Fahrner went on to thank the Chamber members and Board for their support.

Chamber President Brian Donnelly wished her the best of luck in a short statement and acknowledged that the directors would evaluate staffing needs before commencing a search for a possible replacement.
